Week 2 / Gratitude / Sunday

Week 2
Week's Running totals: 42.80
Running Total for 2010: 103.37
Weight training: 3 (yep, you read that right!)
Swimming: 1

5 Things Gratitude:
Matt. Enough said
Full moons
Mexican food
My cat, Patty (official name is Patrick. He loves to roll around outside and makes me laugh)
Paint - cuz I'm tired of my bedroom wall color

One thing I'm NOT grateful for today: that I woke up at 3:45 a.m., wide awake, on my day off work, with a splitting headache. I'm thinking I have sinus infection number 4 million 33.

I was pleasantly surprised I was not very sore yesterday after my 17-miler. I went to the gym and ran a couple miles to shake out the lactic acid. More 3-way lunges, other glute work, ab work, and topped off the gym with a sluggish mile in the pool. Which, who cares about slugging through a mile in the pool....it's just a recovery swim.

Run well!!

You're giving me hope that if I continue these blasted 3-way lunges, eventually I will walk normally again! Great job on the 17 miler. Sounds like a nice route with some nice elevation change. Wait until I post a pic of where I get to run. Boring!!!! You will want to start a new gratitude list and #1 will be, "I'm thankful I'm not Jenn!!" I wasn't sore after my 15 this weekend but my legs were definitely rough during it! Hopefully, the same will happen to me and my 17 will be great this weekend! Great job on the workout as well! Have a great week!

Good to hear about feeling good! That's always good news. BTW, I think swims are great, I swim as often as possible and think it does a lot for my recovery! Cheers!

You've already been to the gym? On your day off??

Glad to hear you're feeling so goo dafter the long run. Now here's hoping you don't end up with a full-blown sinus infection.

V impressive week. I love to swim after long runs. In fact, I always swim on Sundays (after Saturday's long run). I don't know if it is placebo, but I find the swimming to help a lot with recovery.

Sorry to hear about the sinuses. Shame that running is not the instant cure for colds/flu/allergies.

Sinus infections are the worst!!

Swimming is my favorite and I miss it- I will be starting back up soon and can't wait!

Nice work on the weekend run, but I am sorry to hear about the sinuses. I love the pool, and I just got back from a nice swim. I think that building your arms does help with the run, and I like the relaxation.

I think I'm only a few sinus infections behind you. Nice week and yearly totals.

You just need new sinuses!

Glad to hear you are feeling fine after your great 17 miler! I am still jealous. My long run was a 10 miler. I really do not like rain and non-helpful kiddo sitters. Oh well, I'll play catch up this week and get on track.

Hi Jill,
Great job on your running for the week and I am glad to hear that you are not sore after your monster run:)

What color did your decide to go with for your bedroom walls? My bedroom could also use a fresh look!

Have a great day Jill!

Found your blog via Tara's - great job on your 17 miler - even better that you feel good afterwards. Did you hook up with some good mexican food??? You didn't reveal the new paint color??? Have you tried doing the "sinus flush" thing? I have had a long history of sinus/upper resp. issues-my doc recommended getting the Neil-Med squeeze bottle and flushing my sinuses daily. It has really helped.

We have 3 cats and they are always make us laugh! We had one but our daughter moved and now we have 3! Things don't always work out between them but most of the time it's fine.

Good job on the 17 miler!

I got your e-mail; just haven't responded, but Sunday morning looks good to me. I'll e-mail you back with the specifics. I really need to join you at the fitness club to swim!

In Mexico, they just call Mexican food "food." In case you were wondering.
